On successful completion of the programme, you will be awarded the NZIM Diploma in Project Management (DipPM), which provides formal recognition of your competency. You will have learnt the knowledge and applied the skills required for effective management of larger projects in a wide range of contexts.



Participants are required to attend four workshops, each of two or three days' duration, and satisfactorily complete four post-module assessments. Specific industry examples are included as well as a work-based project.

Module One: Project Conception Workshop (2 days)

• Project terminology, stakeholders, characteristics, parameters, challenges and organisational structures

• Project selection, prioritising and definition

• Project feasibility and business cases

• Project stakeholder management

• Project proposals and charters

Module Two: Project Execution Workshop (3 days)

• Project work breakdown structures

• Work package estimating and budgeting                                                       

• Critical path analysis

• Scheduling work including Gantt Charts

• Resource histograms smoothing, levelling and allocation

• Pre-empting implementation problems

• Project plan components

• Microsoft Project Lab Skills day (1 day)

Module Three: Project Executive Workshop (2 days)

• Leadership, motivation and team building

• Delegation and contract management

• Risk management

• Stakeholder management

• Managing performance, variations, variance, and issues and risks

• Earned value analysis and performance curves

Module Four: Project Finish Workshop (2 day)

• Project closure procedures

• Project evaluation

• Benefits review

• Post-project reporting

• Visit a project site

• PMI Guest speakers

• PMBOK review, multi project management, and recent developments such as critical chain


Duration: 9 days (over 9 months)
